Threes Physiyoga Advanced YTT - New York 2020

Designed for Yoga Teachers, this program is comprised of 80 hours of contact and 20 hours observation, practical, and written work.

A Threes Physiyoga certified teacher will be highly versed in:

  • movement assessment

  • have a strong sense of the musculoskeletal and physiological causes and implications of suboptimal and dysfunctional movement

  • the mechanics of breath

  • the neurological considerations of re-training the musculoskeletal system

  • deep integration of fascia and other connective tissue with the nervous system as it impacts the way we move.


  • the skills to address injury

  • provide specific guidance at a higher, more professional level

  • precise and accurate hands on adjustments, modifications, and cues to their students

  • both 1:1 or group setting.


  1. Knowledge Foundations: including anatomy, kinesiology, biomechanics, nervous system physiology, and musculoskeletal pathology

  2. The TPM Assessment Tool: including an asana based assessment system, subjective history taking, and biopsychosocial observation and evaluation

  3. Restoration: using the knowledge foundations and assessment tool we work to restore function. Including therapeutic movements and yoga asana, mindfulness, and breath work as medicine

Through “hands on” case study work and live observation, students gain the tools they need to use their yoga philosophic background in therapeutic one to one sessions with those suffering from injury, chronic pain, and repetitive stress impairments.

The program culminates in a final project as well as a verbal and written exam, where students receiving passing marks earn certification in the Threes Physiyoga Method.

  • Learn the language

  • The Middle

  • Stacking

  • Introduction to the functional asana movement assessment

  • Assessment and Restoration techniques for limbs

Module 2:

  • Assessment and Restoration techniques for the pelvic girdle

  • Assessment and Restoration techniques for the shoulder girdle

  • Core, breath and canister

  • Pain science/healing continuum

Module 3:

  • Assessment and Restoration techniques for the spine and ribs.

  • System influences

  • Class and private setting application

  • Case studies and practical application of the Method

  • Business of Physiyoga


  • Completion of a 200hr yoga teacher training


  • Attendance of three weekends for Levels 1-4

  • Additional course work online (6) hours (pathology, physiology basics)

  • Class observation of Graduate teachers

  • 2 mid-course quizzes

  • Long project - development of 6 week structured programme of teaching in a class for a specific pathology

  • Case study
